we multiply (1) by 2 and (2) by 3,
4x+6y= 40.......(1)
21x+6y= 159......(2)

we substract (1) and (2)
4x-21x= 40-159
-17x= -119
x= 7

we substitute x= 7 to (1)
4(7)+6y= 40
28+6y= 40
6y= 40-28
6y= 12
y= 2

so, the solution is:
x= 7
y= 2

2x=5- (1+√41)/4

same to the other roots, we get

2x+1-√41/4=5

2x=5-(1-√41)/4

x=19-√41/8
